Transportation/Pedestrian
The PTCOG is actively involved in transportation and pedestrian planning in the Piedmont Triad Region through the following initiatives. In fact, the PTCOG has won three national awards for excellence in transportation planning. The National Association of Development Organizations (NADO) issued “Excellence in Regional Transportation Awards” for the I-73/74 Atlas, the Regional Sidewalk Inventory, and PedPower.
The Piedmont Triad RPO provides long-range transportation planning services and related information to citizens in five rural counties.
Ped Power is a Piedmont Triad Council of Governments (PTCOG) program, which works cooperatively with local jurisdictions to provide technical assistance, share information, and identify opportunities to improve accommodations for bicycles and pedestrians.
